The Cost of Leaky Ducts in Greenville, VA

Leaky ducts create a pressure imbalance in your home. When supply ducts leak, you lose expensive conditioned air. When return ducts leak, they suck in dirty, unconditioned air from the attic—bringing in dust, insulation fibers, and humidity. This forces your system to run longer to reach the thermostat setting. By choosing to fix leaking ac ducts in attic, you essentially give your AC unit a vacation, allowing it to cool your home faster and with less effort.

Our Sealing Methodology

We don't just slap duct tape on it (which, ironically, is terrible for sealing ducts). We use professional-grade mastic sealant and fiberglass mesh tape. This creates a permanent, airtight bond that will not dry out or peel off over time. We inspect every connection point—from the plenum to the boot—to ensure your system is airtight and efficient.

Comfort You Can Feel

The most immediate benefit of duct sealing is comfort. Those "hot rooms" or drafty corners in your Greenville, VA home are often caused by a lack of air pressure reaching the vent. Once we seal the leaks, the air pressure is restored, delivering strong, consistent airflow to every room in the house.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I know if I need duct sealing? If you have high summer electric bills, excessive dust, or rooms that are hard to heat/cool, you likely have duct leakage.
  • What is mastic? Mastic is a gooey, paint-on sealant that hardens into a durable, rubber-like seal. It is the gold standard for manual duct sealing because it fills gaps and cracks perfectly.
  • Will sealing my ducts improve air quality? Yes. Leaky return ducts suck in "bad air" from your attic, basement, or garage (including car fumes). Sealing them ensures you are only breathing air from inside your living space.
  • Can you seal ducts in a finished ceiling? It is difficult to access them manually. In those cases, we may recommend an internal aerosol sealing technology (Aeroseal) that seals from the inside out.
  • What is the ROI on duct sealing? It is one of the highest ROI home improvements you can make. It typically pays for itself in energy savings within 2-4 years, depending on the severity of the leaks.

Greenville, VA Insights: Population,
Zip Codes, Influence, and Service Areas

As early as 1794, Greenville was platted and divided into 14 lots of 1-acre (4,000 m2) and sold by Thomas and Jane Steele. Greenville soon became a very busy stagecoach stop. This was because there were 3 major roads all intersecting at or near Greenville. One road connected Greenville with Staunton, another ran from Waynesboro to Middlebrook, and the south road led to Midway (now Steeles Tavern), Fairfield, and Lexington. The town slowly grew, and by 1810, the population had grown to 162, comparing to Staunton's 1225, and Waynesboro's 250. An 1835 account of Greenville said that it had an extensive manufacturing flour mill and a woolen manufactory, two physicians in the area, contained 50 dwelling houses, 3 general stores, 2 taverns, 1 academy, 2 tanyards, 2 saddlers, 2 tailors, 1 blacksmith shop, 1 cabinet maker, 1 wheelwright, 1 saddle tree maker, 3 house carpenters, 1 hatter, and 4 boot and shoe makers.
